So I just received my "replacement" shaft from Rhino with what they are calling a wider pin. It seems to fit better - doesn't wobble on the way on and seems tighter overall. I hope it fixes this issue once and for all. Also very smooth on the butt.
So apparently, they now have joint testers to determine one of three 5/16-14 joints for Mezz and others. They are replacing my shaft with a tighter joint for my Mezz. We shall see. I will report back once I receive the new shaft. But your point well taken!
For the price point I was just...
Fits ok. It was a Rhino - 30" / 5/16-14.
Also what does it mean - Cuetec Cenergy United Thick Joint vs Thin Joint? Can't seem to find anything other than notice Syberts seems to have this noted on their listings?
Obviously my Mezz has the United Joint.
Thanks
I think Ken may have touched upon...
I just purchased the Rhino shaft to go with my Mezz EC-9 cue and although it fits well when its tightened all the way - it seems lose and wiggles going on compared on how the Mezz Sigma shaft screws on.
Is this normal?
I just received my Rhino CF 5/16 -14 for my Mezz EC-9 which I have to say fits perfectly. Not as tight going on, but good and tight just the same. From the first few racks I would say it plays and sounds close to my Sigma wood shaft - both with the 12.5 tip. I was able to get the soft tip...
I asked Celine to insure the tip (I ordered the soft tip) is installed on the shaft before shipping. She responded she would. Now to wait (ordered 12-24) to see what happens when it arrives. How long do these typically take to arrive?
Reading this thread -- thought I'd chime in (first time poster) I just pulled the trigger on the Rhino 5/16-14 as they say it will fit my Mezz United Joint. Crossing fingers and toes. For $170 - couldn't resist. Attached image they sent.
