    Deliberate foul played?

He was on the red ball, but unable to see it. So he knocked the green ball into a safe place, to save a run I expect? The opponent had the ball in hand, potted the red, but was unable to pot the green, but able to see it.

    Deliberate foul played?

So, watching a match today played by two of the best pool players in the world, Sanchez and Gorst. Sanchez was snookered so played deliberate foul, but knocked the second ball on, to a un-pottable posisition. What happens next, and does that cost the other guy any other punishment?

Breaking and racking question in 9 ball.

I've just read that the racking position has changed, and now the 9 ball is on the spot, rather than the 1 ball. I understand, why, and that it was the professionals players that took it forward. My question is, has it now become standard in all 9 ball pool games, or only in certain...

Do you watch a lot of pool videos?

Yes, I'm currently addicted, and enjoy learning something new. I like to watch the ladies as well, some have a very mechanical style, but very good. Anything with Efren in it demands my attention. I'll look at Gorst, as I'v not come across him yet?

Playing up against better players-advice please

While I'm new and only just started playing pool, I found with snooker, most really good players will give you a handicap. Years ago the professional would give you a 21 start in snooker. How that would work in pool, maybe someone else will tell us?

    Table size factors?

If the average pool table is 8' and you're playing 9 ball, and you're after putting the 1 ball, and wing ball in the pockets on the break. Would the pack aiming point be different on a 7' table or a 9' table please? I ask because I'm assuming all the games I watch are played on an 8', and all...

    The Break?

When taking the break-off shot in 9 ball pool, you must always hit the cue ball into the number 1 ball positioned at the diamond's head. The rules for the break shot are the same as for regular shots except that the breaker must either pocket one of the balls or at least make 4 object balls hit...

    The Break?

Thanks Bob, its really interesting. So now I gather a number of balls have to touch a rail, or pass the middle pockets. So if you can pot the 9 ball from the off, it's game over? And you can also pot it off the ON ball too, if you get a chance. Think it's going in now, info goes in more...

    The Break?

Boggieman. Watched another video of this guy from 2001, with his soft break. However the comments suggested that it was banned, is that correct?
