I haven’t been there for years, but at Amsterdam Casino the cashier used to brazenly request a percentage of your tournament winnings “for the dealers” before handing over the cash. Many inexperienced players thought it was mandatory.

That’s pretty much what has happened to me on Facebook. I’m still not entirely sure how they are able to change private account details. Is it our fault, or the website in question? What can be done to prevent it happening again?

To add insult to injury, Facebook are next to useless in addressing such problems. They even sided with the scammer on one occasion… a conman (from Africa) who was literally advertising my own set of pool balls for sale!

Here’s a screenshot of a scammer who was advertising Poker Pool ball sets for sale. They had taken over the account of a genuine business in Texas… failing to notice their Cameroon service provider was visible in the top left corner.
