    Diamondball

After some testing, I found out that the sideways diamond actually had a higher chance of giving a golden break than the regular diamond, so I decided to revert the setup to a regular diamond with the 9 on the spot.

    Question: Carom billiards setup

Well, another problem is that Americans like quick results, hence why we are skewed towards pool games.

    Question: Carom billiards setup

Are you sure about that? When I was developing Snookerpool, when I asked people if they had heard of snooker before, 9 times out of 10 the answer was no. You can't be interested in a game if you have never heard of it before. I would expect the same thing for carom billiards. It also doesn't...

    Question: Carom billiards setup

Well, there was a time where three cushion billiards was a hard sell too. But here in the US the main problem with games like three cushion billiards and snooker is that most people have never heard of them before. The same is true for snooker. For us Americans, these games are more of a...

    Question: Carom billiards setup

I'm thinking of making a variant of three cushion for pool tables, where you only need to hit two rails, but you cannot pocket any balls. The corner pockets thwart the otherwise easy corner nurse, as you need to use more speed to hit both rails, which moves the balls away from their original...

    Question: Carom billiards setup

    Ok. Thanks.

    Question: Carom billiards setup

What is the correct setup for carom billiards? I've scoured the internet for pictures, but I cannot seem to find a picture showing the setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If different setups exist for different games, I am specifically looking for the setup for three-cushion billiards.

Try breaking this 9-ball Rack! Solves pattern layout.

In this case, when you hit the 1, the balls spread less efficiently (no matter what angle you break from), making pocketing a ball harder but still doable. This also makes the 3-point rule pointless, as very rarely will three balls be pocketed or driven to the head string. You can get the 9-ball...

    Diamondball

After some tests, I decided to allow push outs for the second shot of the rack, but with a catch - it is a foul to pot the 9-ball without hitting the lowest numbered ball first. And since potting the 9-ball and committing a foul is a loss, this prevents push outs from being used for easy wins.

    9 ball - 3 fouls

I've always wondered why nine-ball has the three fouls in a row = loss of game rule. Perhaps to make sure the game ends in a timely fashion?

Question: Nine-ball leaves the table and winner can't be identified on a bar table

So basically stalemate. I should update Diamondball's rules to account for this. Thanks for answering the question.

Question: Nine-ball leaves the table and winner can't be identified on a bar table

So you are playing nine-ball on a bar table (the kind of table where you need to pay to play a game), and you sink the 9-ball, but by some stroke of bad luck, by the time someone notices this, the winner cannot be identified. What happens next? Note that spotting the 9-ball is not an option...

If 9-ball is checkers, snooker is chess.

Bucketball, I like it! Except maybe replace the arm wrestle with rock paper scissors (the players need their arms). XD

    Diamondball

After finishing Snookerpool, I decided to revisit this game, and I found a better solution to the break problem - rotating the rack 90 degrees and placing the 9-ball on the foot spot, akin to how the solids and the 14-ball are set up in Snookerpool. Because of the way the balls move when the...
