Back in the 90's I owned a Viking and worked in a pool room that rented out McDermott's. I loved my Viking and always felt every McDermott I've ever tried was really back weighted. For that reason I would never suggest a McDermott but quality wise, I would say they are about the same.

Funny, I've never seen anyone that cried about a break pad really be any good. I use one on my table at home and our private club requires it. DOES NOT make the cue ball jump what so ever. Only a poor stroke will make the cue ball jump. Saves cloth tremendously but still nothing you can do about...

I don't think the tip stays in contact any longer at all. You follow through so your stroke stays consistent through contact and there for online. If you just poke at the ball, your arm will tense up at contact and thus throwing your shot in various directions.
