Adapting to a (I hope) temporary visual handicap

Exactly, I realized that about 5 weeks into this situation. The brain can fill in the blanks quite well. When I try to compensate I miss. The secret is to shoot the same shot 30 times in a row. I'll miss the first 5 because I try to adjust. The trick is to just keep shooting normally...

Adapting to a (I hope) temporary visual handicap

No merit deserved, it's all to see Dan's face if I can beat him with one eye! 😉.

Adapting to a (I hope) temporary visual handicap

I practiced post-op for the first time with my team on the weekend. Even though I have a patch over my dominant\aiming eye they agreed to let me play. I was surprisingly accurate considering. It's a really competitive league so all I can say is that there will be some pissed off players if...

Adapting to a (I hope) temporary visual handicap

For all of you waiting to know the outcome, I underwent eye surgery last Wednesday. Surgeon says it was a success. I'll know more in a couple of weeks. Until then I just need to be patient. I am however still going to play (with one eye) in the league tomorrow night. Wish me luck. Scott

Adapting to a (I hope) temporary visual handicap

I woke up 2 months ago with distorted vision in my left eye. Couldn’t read the clock when I got up. All straight lines look like sine waves. It’s my dominant eye so pool balls are now elliptical and cut in half with the right side a half ball lower than the left side. I’ve continued playing at...

Big pool table, small room. Could this be the solution we've been waiting for.

We actually had to make a new rule. If you shoot while the table is moving it’s a foul.

I did consider voice, clapping, Alexa, buttons etc. The key FOB was the most intuitive and least invasive in my opinion. It can be used without looking at it. It just hangs from my belt loop.

Well at least you guys know the origins when K-tel starts mass producing it. Lol.

    Big table/Small room-thinking outside of the (bar)box

I'm also starting to think about a 9'. That would be crazy having such a big table down there but in theory it should work just fine.

    Big table/Small room-thinking outside of the (bar)box

About the only thing I didn't show were the limit switches on both ends of the ball screw. When the table powers up it "homes" to the left side until it hits the switch and then turns back 1 revolution. B and C are at step 2000 and 4000. The second limit switch is at 4010. If ever the...

Thanks Aduino microprocessors are programmed in C++. This is probably the part that scares most people . However, any DIY minded guy could learn how to program these things in an afternoon. The acceleration/décélération code is actually a library that you copy paste into your own program...

Thanks, I had a lot of fun putting it together. Hats off to my son for the video editing.
