    This is really great. I definitely didn’t smack the cue around too much. I don’t really hear any vibration. So my guess it’s the old maple shaft and ferrule making a noise that I’m just not used to.

    I’ll need to find a cue-smith near me to help me investigate. I do feel like I’m getting used to the noise. I also believe that even though the noise is odd on extreme english shots I don’t think it’s impacting the shot. If you know what I mean.

    Ok cool. Ya I guess a ping sound is what I’m hearing. It’s definitely higher pitched than when I hit a standard center ball shot. Seems like maybe I just play with it for a while and get used to it.

    The Pure X has a kamui black soft tip. I’m thinking this shaft is probably just a maple shaft and not really a LD shaft

    Yes it was there. The lepro tip was very hard. This medium tip softened it a bit. Wonder if I could get a recording of it

    Hi All, First post here. I was recently gifted this cue. It’s a new Viking Q series cue from 1997/98. I changed the tip from the lepro that was on it to a Moori medium. My previous cue is a Pure X with a low deflection shaft. The Viking cue makes a much different noise and on extreme English...
