Relationship Aiming, it's the only way....

I prefer to let the force guide my shot. Though, I have an unusually high midichlorian count so it's probably easier for me than most people.

    What is your PSR?

I heard that Aaron Hernandez was pretty advanced in CTE.

    Poolology Confusion

So to effectively use this triangle method you need to memorize right triangle leg proportions, right? This is easier than just memorizing shot angles?

    Poolology Confusion

Oh okay, cool trick to know. Is this something you do mentally at the table at game time?

    Poolology Confusion

I do appreciate the analysis, Vorpal, but my question was really more about the system than the shot it self. But since you brought it up :D I did whip up some software the other day to do this kind of analysis: When I find time I intend add simply estimated deflection lines based on 30 and...

    Poolology Confusion

I don't know it all. I've only spent an hour or two playing with it and only in a few different zones and most of that was focusing on learning to recognize 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 ball hits for baseline references. So my focus hasn't been to learn the full system itself, yet. It works well for what I've...

    Poolology calculator tool

It's an easy calculation for a computer too! I cooked this up the other day, you can pass it along to your buddy. It's just straight geometry and doesn't take into account the physics of the shot (throw, english, etc). # calc_aim: calculate the percent overhang given x,y coordinates of the cue...

    Poolology Confusion

That it does well, I've discovered that I can spend an half hour just sinking basic cut shots 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 referenced by the poolology number system and the next day my shooting in match is much better. That is, my feel for correct angles is much better and I don't actually use the system...

    Poolology Confusion

I've gone over the poolology book and I like the simplicity of the system. Spending some time with it on the table has really helped me to learn to quickly identify 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 ball hits. Now I've run into some confusion and I don't know if these are holes in the system or if I screwed up...

Cue Ball last glance or Object Ball last glance?

Your analogy reminded me of another one: when shooting pistols we are taught to focus on the front sight, not the target... for what ever that's worth. It makes sense to me that one would want to give the cue tip and cue ball the most attention since that's the only thing we can truly control.

"Poolology", Maybe the best $10 ever spent!

As long as we noobies are allowed to comment, and argue  I'll have to disagree with it being the most complicated. I've just read the poolology book myself thanks to this thread, since he is asking money for the book I don't know how appropriate it would be for me to discuss specifics...
