I think of the break as a skill set, so why have rules, and so many rules, restricting the break?

You say things as if they are fact when they are just your opinion. You can have your opinion, doesn't change my life one bit.

Fred “Scooter” Goodman is a thief. Here’s how he stole from me:

I got a Hutch Pro Racer in 1984 for Christmas. I was shocked because we didn't have a lot of money and it was expensive. There is one on ebay right now. It's $9,500. If only I had the foresight, that would buy me some nice cues. Of course I would not loan any of them to guys named Scooter.

    New 14.1 personal best! (bittersweet)

I am in the same boat. My high run was in the mid 90's. I do not recall what I ran before setting up the first break shot. I rarely got passed that so I guess I didn't care. I ran the table out and got another decent break shot. Ran that table and then blew the next break shot. This was on a...

    GCIV Update

I'm in north central Oklahoma. My little building where I have my table is around 500-550 square feet. I have a mini-split and a dehumidifier in there. I am having to empty the dehu once every 12 hours trying to keep humidity @50% or lower. It's ridiculous. Humid in a drought, and it's over 100°...

    Easy transaction with Fvalstounge.

Recently purchased a Meucci Original DH-1 from Fvalstounge. Very easy transaction. Super fast shipping and a decent price. I would not hesitate to buy from him again.

    1970 9 ball rules

I played a sped-up version myself in the late 80's. Didn't end so well.

Larry Vigus MW cue with one piece butt and wood pin in shafts

Nice looking cue. I've never had or played with a wood pin cue. Would like to try one some day.

    Pool chalk

He means his personal pool room that was just built. There's another thread about it.

    Pool chalk

I'm using V10 for the same reason. I notice far less residue left on the cue ball, table, shaft of the cue, etc. I have always used Masters but I bought several trying to see what was the cleanest when I got my table and the V10 seemed to be the best for that anyway.

    Cues for Sale... Without Extensions

Superior Cues has quite a few custom builders on their site that come with extensions. I saw a Bob Owen cue with an extension on Route 66 cues. I assume a lot of customers must be asking for them. I've never played with one so I guess I could use that as an excuse to shop for another cue.

What, in your opinion, is the minimum Fargo you should have before entering a WNT Open?

I thought about this recently for the Oklahoma Open. I would be the definition of dead money. I believe it was double elimination, race to 9, alternating breaks, so my thoughts were that I would at least get to the table some. I may do it next year if I can improve a bit. Aside from playing...

"I'd love to inherit INSERT PLAYER's NAME cue from when he won INSERT TOURNAMENT"

Any cue that Buddy Hall actually played with would be fine with me. He won a lot of tournaments so a lot to choose from.

Useful Instructional Phrases That Help You Play Pool Better

I was serious for sure. I am pretty hard on myself for most everything but particularly in pool. I maybe should not have started playing again because I don't seem capable of just playing to enjoy being at the table, which is what I had in mind when I started to play again. I had hoped I could...

Useful Instructional Phrases That Help You Play Pool Better

I am guessing my sayings would not be considered helpful. Yesterday was a particularly rough day for me as far as getting balls to go into pockets. If someone was recording me they would have heard: Holy crap you suck! How on earth can you miss a pocket by that much? Why the fuck did you buy...
