    What are AZers doing today.

A while back I met a guy in the pool hall to pick up a cue I bought. He showed me his Bob Owen cue that was sort of fishing themed. I told him it combined my two favorite things. Not much better than being on the water. I love pool but it can't compete with nature.

What corner pocket size is this?

Are yours 4? Mine are just a tad under 4.5. I would struggle on your table for sure.

Breaking ground on new backyard pool hall

I have a building that was already on my property when I bought it that I use. It's about 20X30 and was originally used as a hair salon for a previous owner. They had a toilet in basically a small closet. If you sat on it you would almost hit your knees on the door. We are slowly turning it in...

Vintage Adam Cue Identification – Looking for Model, Year & Catalog Match

I like a lot of the Meucci Original designs but more specifically the 84 series, Jim Rempe cues, some of the David Howard models. I have an 84-5 that I like. There's an 84-6 on ebay now but I need to quit spending money on cues for now. In the late 80's I was playing with a Meucci but wanted a...

Vintage Adam Cue Identification – Looking for Model, Year & Catalog Match

I think all production cue companies made some ugly cues back then but a lot of good looking cues were made also. There are so many more made today that I can't stand. I always liked playing with Meucci and Joss cues but here's a 70's McDermott that I think looks great...

Two fundamentals of pool to avoid sounding foolish for years

Some thoughts should just stay in your head. Simple as that. You believing you have had some sort of epiphany is a joke.

Why do you play this game?

My first recollection of pool is the Wide World of Sports with Cosell. I also remember Mizerack and Mike Massey being on TV. When there are only 3 channels that's a big deal. The first time I remember going to a pool hall was because my Dad was getting a bike he ordered for me at a place called...

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

I really thought I wanted to contact a maker and have them make me a cue. Then I started looking at all that's out there and decided against ordering one. I am just not that creative. Or maybe it's that I am not picky enough. I see tons of cues I would like to own in the $1k to $3k range. Maybe...

    Age related decline.

Good to see other people doing this that can understand my frustration. You shoot much more softly than I do. I shoot like I'm angry half the time. My neck is similar to yours. When I still had movement I used to play with my chin on the cue. Now I need to play like Minnesota Fats (upright)...

    Age related decline.

Yes, I take Enbrel. I was on it many years ago, lost insurance and was off it for a few years. Those years are when my neck fused. Prior to Enbrel I was on a variety of different anti-inflammation drugs with Indocin being what I took most because it was cheap. I have been back on Enbrel now...
