Home Room Size for 9' Table

just posted pics of my basement here: https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/show-us-your-home-rooms.182377/post-7991235 I have a 9' in a 13'02" x 23'09" room. Technically too small. I am missing ~8" off the long rail on each side. A 51" shorty makes this doable. I feel like I am using the...

Fargo Caps = The dumbing down of pool

Isn't that a contradiction? Fair chance, but then somebody is favored? I kinda get where you are coming from. Putting fargo caps on handicapped tournaments is ultimately the APA-sation (is that how you write it?) of tournaments. It's like the 23-point rule.

    The perfect leather tip?

Okay, here is the video with Scott: He admitted to being nuts about things and just generally mentions different tips having different deflection. The Alex video I think he is referring to is here Both are much into One Pocket, maybe that makes you crazy ;) They both talk about specialized...

    Tournaments list.....???

not really. The app on my phone was a main battery drainer back then, so that is not coming back on. The web version doesn't show the link to events of a group. So, definitely frustrating. Not even talking about the fact you have to know which group to join to stay in the loop in the first place.

    Tournaments list.....???

I also wished something like this existed for the local, regional level. Only reason I went back and use facebook again is local tournaments and some leagues are posted there, and only there. It's super frustrating to find posts you think you saw about schedules, next event's starting dates or...

    The perfect leather tip?

I get where Alex is coming from, I saw that video, too. Scott Frost also talked about tips affecting deflection big time and that leads me to a video Niels Feijen did, reviewing a past performance of his. He had to switch to his backup shaft with a different tip, which threw him off big time in...

FargoRate / DigitalPool: How is perfomance calculated and reported against "adjusted" player?

okay, thanks. That's what I was expecting.

FargoRate / DigitalPool: How is perfomance calculated and reported against "adjusted" player?

Adjusted by the TD. He can overwrite that player's fargo. Happens when someone has low robustness or a lower fargo enters a "higher bracket" with a minimum higher than his fargo. The latter would be if you have a split bracket, split at 560. The lower bracket starts on Saturday, the higher on...

FargoRate / DigitalPool: How is perfomance calculated and reported against "adjusted" player?

Not that it matters much, but out of curiosity: If I, as a 550, play a 470 (real fargo, with ~400 robustness), which entered the tournament as a 550, how is each player's performance calculated? As if he would be a 550? or as if a would have played a 470? I can see that DigitalPool does the...

    Opinions on split bracket formats

If matches are still being handicapped, being a 550+ sucks. In terms of fargo rate you can loose big, but not win big. But I guess they do it for a reason, because some will say they won't play, if not split bracket. And you avoid giving big handicaps. Also, the way I know them here in NYC, you...

Has anyone heard from Tom Hay recently?

Maybe he is planning to take over, but was careful to say anything until he knows, everybody else knows. If somebody dies (in an accident), info/identity is only released, once direct relatives are informed. A while ago a friend passed and they released as soon as they notified the wife here...

Has anyone heard from Tom Hay recently?

So sorry to hear that. Sounds like he came back out of the hospital and still tried to work and ship right until he passed. A pleasure to deal with, fast service and a great product. May he rest in peace!

US Open (9 ball) 2024, August 19-24, Atlantic City

Soccer fields in Europe have to only fit into ranges of dimensions. There are smaller soccer field in major leagues than others

Good practice techniques for a beginner

Very nice. You can also always break a full 9 ball rack and take away the lowest balls from the table. Always the same balls, not the difficult ones. 🙂 To get past 6 balls, you really have to think 3 balls ahead. This will teach you stamina and playing the angles.
