Jacoby Ultra Pro Shaft (low deflection?)

For the last couple of years I had been playing a predator 9k-2 and revo shaft. However, over the last couple of months I was using my 314-3 shaft and really enjoy playing with a wood shaft over the carbon fibre shafts. I've come to realize that I just prefer the feel of the hit from wood. A...

    New shaft from OB

Today was my first day hitting balls with the OB Curly Shaft 12.8 which is a torrified shaft just like its little brother, the Phoenix. I really love the feel and sound of the hit on a center ball shots and soft touchy spin shots, but it is going to take some time to get used to the flex - the...

    Why tournament blue?

I agree red is the worst. I have a friend with red cloth table. Fun to play with him but horrible conditions even though the cloth is still relatively new. Too hard to see and too messy. I even think red chalk skids more. Balls skid all the time on that table, more than anywhere else I've seen.

    Pool Tournaments During COVID Pandemic

masks are tin foil hats and a mind control device to propagate the common cold. (trauma based mind control for children for sure) nothing new under the sun. people get sick, always have and always will. the media and government can propagandize anything and always are on one topic or another...

    offered to adjust and refused

I'm always looking to play better players. Plenty to choose from. LOL

    offered to adjust and refused

Off topic from OP. I always tip service providers, where I know I'll be back for future service, just a touch above what they might expect to see. Regardless of industry. I find I usually get great service when I return.

Is This A Difficult Shot For Most?

I think I would go forward three rails and come into the line of the 7. This gives a lot more room for speed control errors.

    LET GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My inadequate articulation of the exact 'point of impact' doesn't equate to a selling of snake oil but I will try to clarify. In a free swinging pendulum, the highest point of speed is at the vertical axis. So to 'accelerate' through the cue ball you must make contact just prior to getting to...

    LET GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check out Jesus Antencio's stroke in this match. The cue is fully released at time of impact on most of his shots.

    LET GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't see it as semantics and do believe there is a dividing line of where the pull stops and the push begins. Namely in the wrist joint at the apex of its pendulum swing. During the forward stroke when the wrist is cocked back I would define this as a pull and if the wrist is cocked forward...

    LET GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the hand will always be close to the weight but it is more about where that weight/mass is. When playing with standard cue length, which is what I do, I notice that when my stance is optimum (being slightly compact), I can stroke quite well and confidently through the cue ball with a...

    LET GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if your referring to lateral stability at bridge hand, yes but in a standard shooting position with a standard extension the added weight is negligible. however when shooting off rail or at close up shots where may typically slide your grip had up and shorten your stance, stability goes out the...

    LET GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Commenting on your second paragraph. I think the placement of the weight behind the grip hand to increase mass is advantageous because it promotes pulling through with cue as opposed to pushing through. In seemingly every sport the throw is an accelerating pull, (golf, bowling, baseball...
