I called Diamond and they told me to just use the machine 'dry' - so - when I polish my balls I do NOT use any polish. They come out very clean. I think that adding a bunch of 'goo' just gums up the carpet in the machine. Anyway, that's my experience and I am very glad I bought the Diamond...
