How much does calibratign it cost? How would I know the mechanic is good.

I have a GC 2. I just bought. The cushions feel a little thudish. I can only get 3.5 maybe 4 rails if I smack it.. Im looking to replace them myself if I can. Can I just buy and replace them? Do I have to do any work to the sub rails??
