He is my idol. From this short summarization here, I don’t get who taught him how to play pool.

I also can’t find his books on anything. Does anyone know

1/ who was his instructor ?
2/ the name of any pool books that he may have composed ?

Thanks mucho

So he is the prime example of hitting millions balls ?
Not at all. He played many disciplines that require many different techniques. As an example: the caliber of average American 9 ball players has reached a much higher level since many have started playing One Pocket. The same to those who play 3 Cushion.

I have to wonder what effect growing up/learning to play in such a humid climate might have? Many outdoor tables there, I understand (?) Likely not all under shade, either. Adapting to extreme/changing conditions may be good training for multiple disciplines.
