Schmelke has always had a good solid reputation.

Agree they need to fix the issue. I could not get on at all. Three different computers etc. the problem I think is the provider not browser. I cannot get on with my PC. Can’t with my phone either but if I turn off my WiFi, I can get through to them from my phone.

They shut down their retail distribution channels and eliminated most of the customization options from the website for their stock cues.
What I had heard was they were scaling back on retail to focus on more custom cues.
They still build and sell stock cues, and that is what the website is for, but they are pretty much as-is. It would seem to be more for work they do as a filler than a driver of the business at this point.
So, the website might just not be a priority.

I don’t quite get your meaning. Inspired by hers how? You mean you just ordered it after seeing this photo?

I’ve done a lot of work on that thing, actually. It plays amazing. Its been sort of my guinea pig for beginning to work on cues.

I saw your girlfriends model on the Schmelke website and the stitch rings reminded me of my McDermott D-15. I liked the one piece rosewood look. I then saw another Schmelke on their website that had stitch rings at the joint and at the butt with a cream white butt cap. I showed the picture from the website to a local cue maker. We agreed that a butt like that would compliment my D-15. We picked two pieces of different species of rosewood and he built a break cue butt them. My break cue butt has a solid black ring at the A joint between the two pieces of rosewood and black and maple stitch rings at the joint and just above the butt cap. It's awesome looking!

i understand now. I bought her cue as a gift for an upcoming something-or-other, so when i emailed david, he sent me a photo of the cues that he had available at that moment. Let me drag it out of gmail:

Dates on gmail say december of ‘19 so that something-or-other was christmas i suppose.

update. Pilot hole sanded to satisfaction. Pin screwed in. Again decided to forgo the epoxy until it needs it. snug as a glove now.

I haven't seen many kielwood shafts. It looks great with that butt (rosewood?).
