Shaft to Butt Joint Adapters - Thread Converters

Why does no one on the planet earth carry or make a "Uni-loc shaft to 5/16 18 butt Joint adapter" or conversion piece. Schmelke use to make them. What the heck happened. Just no market for the product? Sure, they carry joint adapters in just about every other thread. Doesn't make sense.
Schmelke still has them on their website. They appear to be aluminum. Can't confirm because their site is terrible.

In a short web search, I can't find one that isn't aluminum. I figure aluminum would be fine unless you are worried about your butt/shaft in conjunction with the adapter.

If you want something else like wood or CF, you would probably have to get a cue maker to custom fit one for you. There was a discussion about something like this on AZB recently if you care to look.

It would be interesting to see a company like BalanceRite to make adapters out of their extensions.

Can you send me the link to the Schmelke one please? Whatever link I keep clicking goes to a 404 page.

I have both Schmelke (here is the link and hope it works for you .. it does for me https://schmelkecue.com/cues/shafts/shaft-adapter.html) and the eBay seller adapter. These adapters add both length and weight and impact the balance and I have to adjust where I grip the cue. I don't use them in regular play. I believe custom cue makers might be able make one that is lighter weight wood adapter. Recently some shaft makers do have different options of changeable joints.

Interchangeable shaft insert system was available on Universal Smart Shaft over 10 years ago. So you could buy a shaft "blank", fit it with suitable insert piece to fit your butt pin. I saw several that broke from the insert, but the shaft hit surprisingly well and I think many pros were shooting with one at the time.
