People keep bashing Kazakis saying he’s not that great or consistent. What people forget is that he zeroed Shane in a major final and I would have to say that he makes the game simple using straightforward tactics and avoiding any flashy shots or position. He also meticulously prepares for each shot and doesn’t rush them. Some call him boring but I think he simplifies, is efficient and gets it done and can be an example in shot selection. Admitted he is not the most fluent and sometimes pressure gets to him but he works what he has got and despite some bad misses earlier he was stellar in shootout.

Kazakis played well this tournament. He’s got an 822 Fargo, so obviously he’s been good for a long time. A top 20 player globally or thereabouts. Had twins less than two years ago and has been more absent.

SVB had his chances. Ko got his, and he didn’t give Kazakis much breathing space aside from the missed 10 ball. A high-level performance from Chung.

First time I saw Kazakis was in 2010 at the European Championship, I think he was just 19 and he played great. He lost in the semi final of the 9ball division to Ralf Souquet. He is a very Solid player, deserves to win more majors.

Only watched the SVB v Kazakis match. The whole best of 5 sets thing wasn't bad. Lot of pool played. The stupid spot shot crap is just a gimmick for simpletons fans. Absurd to be in a Championship event.

While I agree with you 100% on Ko PC high level performance, Alex was only a few balls away from taking the final to the fifth set and incidentally an anyone’s race to 4 after losing first six racks. It’s like Alex seems to be struggling a bit and then suddenly runs the needed racks to make it very close. And I have to say I like the set structure, even though the match seems one-sided, the comeback is much closer and easier to achieve. Not much breathing room for players until the final ball is down.

Ko PC made some really nice outs under pressure, great player!

Ko PY hasn’t been threatening any major finals lately, maybe after the bros changed to Zen cues. Who knows, maybe he misses his Southwest?

Watched the final today while doing housework. Ko playing with a wood shaft with nearly one inch ferrule (Zen?), time for us to work on our cueing...

If I could take anybody in the world's stroke, I think it would be Ko PC. Dude needs to do some neck rolls and shoulder shrugs, though. He looks like Mr. Mackey, mmkay?
