Treadway cues

Good news, Josh emailed me back a few days ago and we had a phone call today. He let me know it’s a 2-3 year wait but he will get started on the cue right away and do it in stages. We went over some ideas and he sent me a few pictures of materials he has. Design should be decided on and he’ll start working soon!

To everyone saying how expensive customs are and how they wouldn’t wait that long, I understand. But I’m wanting something that’s a little more than just regular cue. To me they are more like functional works of art and I appreciate the craftsmanship. I don’t and haven’t owned any custom cues and I’m figuring it’s about time for me to finally make the investment and have something I’m really proud to own.
I think somebody put a bug in his ear!! Aint AZ grand?!?😂👍🏻

A few years back, my wife decided she liked my Odyssey Vang putter and that I should buy a new one to replace it. I shopped for a year and was surprised how much I didn’t care for other putters, even other Odysseys. I liked Scotty Cameron but was holding back because of the price. I eventually decided to buy a Cameron when I happened to see the exact same model Odyssey Vang putter in the used bin for $40 in new condition. I bought the Odyssey, gave it to my wife, and took back my old putter.
I have the Odyssey Fang in red and I know exactly what you mean.

This may be just too simple but: if ordering a hi-end cue why not just buy a decent-good player to use during the wait. You can You can make it your back-up or sell it later. I've been dealing with cue guys so long i know what i'm getting into. If in ANY hurry buying a custom cue is probably not a good move.

☝️Can we get a pin on this. While it is an opinion, it will likely be the experience of most here. As with many hobbies, if you are coming in late, picking up something to play with in the interim that may end up being all you use, is a very reasonable start. Make sure you understand what the terms are when putting a deposit down on a custom cue, should you change your mind or just need the money.

This was the photo Richard Black used for his catalog when I had him make the 4-point in 1978.

$175 is what I paid for it.

I wanted him to make the Hoppe for me, but he said he didn't want to make any more of them until he figured out what was causing them to make some sort of weird sound when you hit the ball with them. I assume it was because of the way he constructed the butt cap with the Hoppe ring and I can't remember if he used a bumper on them at the time or whether it was recessed into the butt.

I guess he figured it out because he started making them again,
