I could be wrong here but i think they weren't in because of the invitation only deal. All three were in the singles events. Did not being affiliated to a national federation cause anything? If it didn't affect the singles why would it the team play? I've come to really like the short/fast/hi pressure format myself. I watch whatever pro pool is on. Could not care less about the MR/Pred/WPA bs.

they sell tables, cues, cloth, balls, rack, lights (!), chalk, gloves and probably lots more. these events showcase their products.

JOY is another equipment manufacturer doing the same thing in china. duya is a competing company, also putting on tournaments. it's a business model that works, obviously, but for how long idk. they sell tens of thousands of tables every year

With China based co's there's always the elephant in the room: the CCP. They help fund a lot of sports related stuff.

The team match is a World Championship and is country based. Anyone under the AIN flag cannot play. Kristina played in the Mixed Doubles.

No offense but i'm not losing any sleep over a team event. I watch singles play only. Barely watch the MC.

Understood. I thought that the Doubles event was entertaining given the 20s shotclock. Some teams really screwed up the time management.

The Team event is $120k first prize. USA has two relatively good teams.

Really good back and forth in this finals, Filler and Gorst trading blows. Fedor is up 3-2 in the first set but Josh is looking to tie it up, running the table as I type this.
 
Gorst wins the first set 4-3. Filler runs away with the 2nd set 4-0!!!

3rd set is gonna be spicy. May even go to a shootout, but Filler has caught a gear so we shall see.
 
Game 7, of the first set, is one for the highlight reels. Crazy cue ball control by both.
