This is not in the least a debate. In fact I have had a screw on extension for my cue for like 30 years. Miz had one that looked like a piece of a vacuum cleaner hose he slipped on the butt of his cue. I watch a lot of the pool now and they are constantly using an extension when a bridge would probably be better.
The other night I saw Shane reaching with an extension, he must have had 3 feet of cue sticking out ahead of his bridge hand. He messed up the shot costing him the game. There's certainly a place for both an extension and the bridge I think some guys put the extension on too quick.
My other concern about this would be a new generation of players not professional just guys who play not even recognizing the value of the bridge or ever learning how to use it. They see all these pros with their extensions and think that's it that's what you do.
