HOW PS-03GN + Predator Revo shaft not compatible?

I bought a HOW PS-03GN cue a while back, but never really got along with the Hyper-X shaft. I've been playing with a Prather cue equipped with a predator revo for a couple of years, so I figured I'd just replace the Hyper-X with a revo and Bob would be my fathers brother. Boy was I wrong. The damned thing doesn't even fit. Apparently radial isn't the same on all cues. The pin is too thick and too long for the shaft. What's the remedy?

Take the shaft and cue to a cuesmith and he’ll tap the shaft threads to fit

Their Radial pins are metric, so a 8mm minor instead of 5/16"
