If you want, want to see i mean, something really rare, here it is!
2 masters collaboration. This is the only one of two Hercek with 5 veneers ever made.
It is built out of Burton Spain blank.
The wood is Brazilian Rosewood and Highly Figured Birdseye Maple. The inlays are natural and gold!
The joint is natural and the butt cap too, 5/16x14 pin.
The butt is 15.7 oz and the shafts are built out of premium shaft wood and are 4.4, 4.3 oz, 4.0 & 4.1 oz.
With no doubt, this is one of the nicest, the most valuable, the most desiring and the most special cue i have in my collection. There are many fancier and much more inlaid cues i have or had but there are not many if there is any which is more tastefully done, in a way which shows style and quality and which is special in so many ways.
Burton Spain was one of the most influential cue makers ever. His influence on cue making is far reaching, and is as evident now as it was 30 years ago. As information on cue making in the 1960s and 1970s becomes more readily available, the importance of Burton Spain's contribution becomes increasingly evident. This short biography will give you a glimpse of Burton Spain the cue maker, the person, and the MENSA member! His legacy lives on in the work of Joel Hercek, who was his friend and student until his death in 1994.
