For the love of 70’s Cues & The Game

New member, been a reader for years, but I finally decided to join and post. Some may think this is stupid, but I absolutely love this game and everything associated with it.

Here is one from the original launch in 1974-75. I bought this when I was 13 (51 years ago). Meucci claims it was from their Starter Series but some other experts say early prototype. No logo and/or stickers were ever on it as far as I remember. Meucci says fading was probably from the early launch stickers that were used.

I’m 6’4” and have this paired with a 1.75” joint extension and shoot with both a Jacoby CF V4 and Predator 314-3. My other sticks I use a 3” extension but way to back heavy on the Meucci.

Still refer to this as my going to war stick as it’s magical to me. Rare bird….

Meucci
Length 29”
5/16 - 18 Joint
Butt (Inside Diameter) .748
See weight bolt

Lastly, I am a huge Bob Runde and Bob Meucci fan. Have played with their designs for years..

Cheers,
Don

Welcome in. I’ve said many times as I’m 62 and been playing since I was about 13. The old school meucci cues particularly up to they went script, and even with some some of the 95 series cues have the sweetest hit ever made. But you had to have learned with them and appreciate their high deflection. I personally believe they are the purest hit ever made.

Thank you, well said🙏 I can’t explain it.

The game IMO is all mental once you have the fundamentals that you’re comfortable with. I like a heavier longer stick and shoot almost everything at 21oz+. This setup with the shaft extension is right at 21.5 and the forward balance really works for me. Also own a Truewood 2 and a Sport 2. Love to play……
