I replaced the bumpers and felt when I moved it from my dad's house. My dad originally purchased the table in 1968, when AMF had purchased Brunswick and was making their AMF Gran Prix pool tables similar to Brunswick's Gold Crown I tables. It has seen little action since the move to my house, and I'd like to see it get a good home. The table comes with all original accessories. Also included is a green leather cover I got as a gift when I moved the table to my house. The table is in my basement, which has an exterior entrance with no steps to climb. Asking $1000 cash or best offer. I am located near Washington DC in suburban Virginia.

i checked with mods on posting this and they said ok: AMF never owned/made Brunswick tables. common misconception/rumor but not true. this table is sweet, love these old GP's.

Thanks for the clarification. After posting this, I read that AMF and Brunswick were competitors in 1968 and neither owned the other. Apparently, AMF created the Grand Prix table to compete with Brunswick's Gold Crown I. My Grand Prix table uses three pieces of slate (each 1-inch thick). When my dad had the pool table installed in 1968, I remember they used melted beeswax to seal the seams between the slates. When I moved the table to Virginia, the installers used what looked like spackle to fill the seams. Both made a completely smooth surface that has lasted over the 58 years I've played on the table.
