it actually is. the benefits of TAOM style chalk is a collective benefit of less skids and cleaner tables over time, not a superpower that will eliminate skids for the individual user. unless all players in a tournament use TAOM style chalk, its benefits goes out the window really.

Several top pro snooker players have mused about banning the old style chalks. I think it’s only Ronnie and maybe Judd who still use it.
