My neighbor landlord use to do the Santa Anita, Hollywood Park , and Vegas all the time. He said he never lost, but I question why he live in / managed apartments, and drove 8 year old Buick.


One day he & his wife had returned from Vegas after a big weekend of winning he said. I said Jack you are full of crap, there are two kings of gamblers, losers, liars, and no one ever win all the time.


BTW is the Horseshoe on Fremont still the Horseshoe, or because you killed the place are you new owner. Does the building say Jack’s Place?

First I had to show my workmates that I wasn't full of hot air. We were working out of
town so motel program. First night after work had a 6 man crew including superintendent. I was playing the Boss for the first round. I dutifully broke and ran all my solids or stripes but accidentally left myself hooked on the 8 ball. The crew was giggles as I had bragged many times. So now they had encouraged The Boss with, "Well at least you get a shot!"
Uh.not so . I called it and kicked it in. It was kinda required to maintain my credit ability. 😉

Having seen the Buick it was pile of junk, he Jack was the guy living in an Apartment, He & Wife Managed, driving pile of junk. This was LUCKY Jack & Betty they never went to track or Las Vegas with out coming home winners.

Jack & Betty were IMHO dreaming, they life style did not project winners.
 
Cheap lessons makes more sense than gaudy gear. 🤷‍♂️

Reminds me of my Italian maternal grandmother, IIRC, some time in her 60s. She had a neighbor named Rudy Gerstenburger.

Nanny couldn't say the "burger" part without adding "ham-". So it would be "Rudy Stenhamburger". I remember doing the same with her.

"Say "Ger." "Ger."

Say "Sten." "Sten."

Say "Burger." "Burger."

"Gerstenburger." "Gerstenhamburger."

On another note, since this thread referenced shooting both right- and left-handed, and had some Yogiisms, let's add this gem: "I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous." He was a treasure.

We had a similar story in our family. One of my aunts when she was young couldn't call my great grandma "grandma", but instead called her "Gameo", and even though her real name was Maude she went by Gameo for the rest of her life. She even had a personalized license plate on her Dodge Monaco that read "GAMEO".
 
I don't know that it "messes up my real game", but the game I'm playing sure isn't the same game...

You are perceptive but I prefer carrying a .45 and my opposite handed accuracy suffers quite a bit.
I am picking up my new Canik Mete MC9 today. I wanted a Springfield Ronin but it isn’t CA legal.

9mm opposite handed isn’t nearly as challenging as .45 but hopefully I never have to rely on this.
I really dislike using a bridge since I am not that tall and I tend to push my cue rather than stroke.
