Why urethane coated Irish linen?

i love white wraps so the clear coat is the way to go i mean the solid white noone else really offeres a solid white . but i will say this i have a gambler 2 a fairly newer one and the white wrap looks painted under the clear and it kinda sux i like the white wrap but the whit painted handle sux , another thing the cards used to look like the was down un the cue like in a window kinda which looked really good now the cards seem to be on top without the window affect . short story now bobs gone meucci just aint the same meucci's the QA isnt the same some take pride in there stuff and will fail it and sell it cheaper like the 2nd fact cues but not now they just say it dont affect how it shoots its fine who cares you paid a grand for it

I have an older schon, and by the looks of the linen i think it was sealed with something. It might be just sweat and dirt.
On the otherhand i bought a cheap buffalo cue for my son, with just linen wrap.
The clean linen is much nicer to grip i think. However schon is a least 35 yrs old and original wrap. It will last for at least a couple of decades or more.
