Why don't more bars lease Diamond pool tables?

Yeah I would never play on a diamond bar box that couldn't be opened and rented by the hour. If I'm practicing 9ball, I'd be paying 40-60 an hour at $1 a game.

If I'm playing somewhere and they offer food, I'll usually get food. I don't drink, but I'll always get a tea or soda at the very least. The only way I'll ever play on tables paying by the game is when there are challengers and challenger pays.

Agreed, if I'm with "normal" friends who don't play pool and we're just messing around I don't mind paying per game, it's usually the cheaper option but, if it's me and another pool buddy it's hourly for sure. I play pretty fast, quarters gets expensive.

How long have they had the 11 Globals and how do they maintain them, given rails and pockets cannot be "bought off the the shelf" as I've found out multiple times? Do they just get new felt over the years and that is it?

At least since 2018, that's when I got back into pool, but I would venture to guess they've had them for much longer. They get new felt once in a while but generally they get pretty nasty before the felt is replaced. Since I'm not a pool table snob I have no issues playing on crappy tables, I actually prefer them most of the time

I might have suggested replacing 4 or 5 of the Globals with Diamonds, the money would tell her which tables are best to have. We have several bars that have both Valley's and Diamond's, at all of these locations the Diamond's are always the preferred table even though they cost $1.50 per game vs $1.00 on a Valley.

She did actually have one Diamond put in, I believe it was there for about 4-6 months. I might have played on it once or twice but only for a few games.

EDIT: As mentioned, this place doesn't really draw "pool players", it's mostly bangers just drinking beer. During the day when it's free pool it's the usual crowd of mostly older guys and few younger couples occasionally.
