so i’ve decided to make cues

Au contraire. I find you hilarious.
yeah, that checks out.

you seem like the kind of guy that just lurks on this forum all day waiting to pounce and make yourself feel superior. i’m sure i have provided you plenty of entertainment.

godspeed man keep up the good work

Not everybody should be a cue maker.

Keep up the great work. Posts/threads like this are what make this forum amazing IMO. Some people come here to learn, share knowledge or read about history.

Not all are here to post/talk S$%& all the time. I often wonder if several members (not in this thread) but on the site even play pool at all?

Stay at it man 👏 👏 🙏

finally got a chance to play with the lathe!

the four jaw is gonna take some practice. a runout dial indicator is probably next.

i decided to just freeball it to see how close it would get. i was about 1-2 mm off center, which is obviously not good, but man it was so satisfying to plunge straight through a dowel like that after all the horsehockey i’ve had to deal with when messing with them by hand.

plastic analog harbor freight caliper included to fit the theme ;)

im gonna put one of these things on the spindle to jam nuts against for backdriving. maybe a plug cut for the socket to slip into if i’m feeling frisky.

i happen to have this extra spindle still, so i tried threading this thing on there and broke it about halfway through. i could cut some slices into the spare junk spindle to make it a tap (as i have done in the past with decent success), but i dont need it to thread on there perfectly so i’ll probably just go up a 1/16th when boring the next one.

others have commented on how they like seeing the process posts and the failures, and i’m chock full of those, so i’ll keep adding them when i feel like it.

also, this looks pretty useful:
