Hi folks. I recently bought an Adam "Jim Rempe" cue, which I'm to understand is from the early 80s. It's got a 5/16x18 piloted joint pin, and its shaft screws easily onto my Valhalla cue that has a 5/16x18 pin, other than the fact that the Valhalla is not piloted.
However, the Valhalla's shaft screws onto the Adam only with a considerable amount of effort in the last 1/8-1/4 inch, like it gets really tight and you have to put some muscle on it to get the faces of the joints to finally touch.
As far as I can see (and measure with calipers) the Adam's pin is basically the same specs, so what gives? Have any of you folks experienced this?
