Hey Folks,
Im always being asked when I play league/tournaments, what kind of pool cue is that? If you played/watched pool in the 90's, and Django was on TV/ESPN, you'd see him with his yellow Bear patch on his shirt, as he played with a Bear for over 20 years. Heres some details that I wanted to share and show pics of my collection
-Bear was made in the Falcon factory in Canada, along with Falcons and the 5/16x14 Predators. Bears went to Germany, and Falcons stayed in the US/Canada. Most Bears when they left to Germany didn't come back. The Bear cues that are Uniloc made by Dynamic Billiards are not what's pictured, those weren't manufactured in Canada and moved to manufacturing overseas.
-They are all 5/16x14 that take a 3/8x16 bolt, which gives a lot of flexibility on weighting and balancing the cue. You can still buy the bolts on the Predator website, and I sometimes put small black bullets in front of the bolt, I like when cues have that kind of flexibility for weight/balance
-Basically Nick Varner, Francisco, Karen Corr, Jeanete Lee, and others played with the same stick, it was just labeled either a Falcon or Bear
-Ive sent Francisco a PM to show him my collection, he hasn't read it yet. I've been told 1 if not 2 were his personal sticks from where I bought them
-Cues made today with this type of wood and this amount of inlays aren't cheap
-All are in immaculate condition with original matching collar shafts. I even have only 1 Bear low deflection shaft which hits really nice. I use the Predator Vantage on my Bears
Wanted to share, and nothing IMO beats a 30 year old 90's stainless steel joint hitting cue.
If you have a Bear/Falcon and like to sell, PM me, and if your interested in one of my Bears, you never know, I may let one go lol
