Qatar World Cup 10-Ball 2026

But some people say this is a "Major" and Phillipines Open was not a "Major".

Laughable.

i would say that yes. i don't think 20k first prize makes the cut.

but on the qatar open, my opinion is they should let either predator or MR do the production. as it is it's incredibly boring. and they removed the bracket?

I've gotten used to watching matches well after they've started to avoid all the long delays between shots when a shot clock is not in effect. I just skip thru the dead space.

IMO the biggest hurdle for pro pool to go from a niche sport, to a materially bigger niche sport, is a shot clock on every table in every tourney. Events won't take as long and fans' attention will be held longer.

I've got to think an AI-related solution will come around eventually. Some matches are like watching North Carolina's Four Corners offense in the pre-shot clock era!

These top players didn’t even make it to the final 64.

Albin Ouschan
Jonas Souto
Max Lechner
Sanjin Pehlivanovic
Jayson Shaw
Thorsten Hohmann
Aleksa Pecelj

Albin Ouschan has really fallen off the mountain. Souto has leveled out recently. Lechner is slowly losing ground in the pro ranks. Shaw is increasingly hot and cold.

Top players knocked out in the last 64:

Eklent Kaci
Kledio Kaci
Niels Feijin
Alex Kazakis
David Alcaide
Naoyuki Oi
Denis Grabe
Bernie Regalario

Biggest names left with the round of 32 underway

Jonas Magpantay (defending champ)
Wojciech Szewczyk
Mario He
Wiktor Zielinski
Joshua Filler
Olivier Szolnoki
FSR
Carlo Biado
Robbie Capito
Duong Quoc Hoang
Fedor Gorst
Daniel Maciol
Jefrey Roda
AJ Manas

Filler is losing 6-2 to Szolnoki and Manas is beating Alnar 8-3. Fedor cruising to the final 16.

The Final 16.

Jonas Magpantay vs Wojciech Szewczyk
Rocky Tullao vs - John Morra
Miguel Salvilla vs Jerico Bonus
Joshua Filler vs Tobias Bongers
Carlo Biado vs Konrad Juszczyszyn
Dương Quốc Hoàng vs Daniel Macioł
Fedor Gorst vs Hsieh Chia Chen
Jundel Mazon vs Aj Manas

A lot of big names gone - and some surprising names left. Never heard of Rocky Tullao of Miguel Salvilla, but of course they are Filipino. Looks like a 750-ish Fargo for both.

Seven Pinoys in the final 16. Manas might be poised for a break through. He's never gone past the final 16 in a major event.

Hsieh Chia Chen has had a strong year. Lot of deep runs, and he won the recent mixed doubles Predator event.

Maciol won this event in 2024. He hasn't really built on it, though.
