Red balls vs. numbered balls?

I picked up a set of Aramith 2-1/4" snooker balls. Never get a chance to play on a real snooker table, but still a fun game.
Now, I've gotten myself in the habit of practicing 14.1 with just the 15 red balls. No need to "call" a specific ball... I know which one I'm shooting. Most shots are so obvious.
I'm not sure if it's easier or more difficult without ball markings to orient the shot and pick an aiming point, but like it for now.
Would you play straight pool with just one solid color of balls? Certainly not with an unknown player for money, but otherwise?

Even in a friendly game, combos, caroms, & banks usually need to have the ball/pocket called. Would just be too confusing to specify which red ball you intend to pot in whatever pocket.
Makes me wonder though, how much easier it is to pocket those smaller balls on a regulation pool table (?). Would likely more than compensate for any increased difficulty in aiming.

You're probably right. The balls are the same size, though, not smaller.
