Carbon Fiber Shaft(s) for Schon Cues

any shaft with a 5/16x14 piloted or flat faced will fit "well" on a Schon.
depends on your budget and availability and what are you looking for.

Could someone let me know, too? I've been looking for one as well that has the correct 5/16-14 piloted joint hopefully with a pro taper and a 12.75mm or 13mm tip although 12.5mm isn't a deal-breaker. Thanks in advance!

I have both a Rhino and a Revo that fit a Schon, I don't get the issue here... any 5/16x14 shaft will do, piloted or flat faced.
The pilot on non Schon shaft is smaller than the Schon and will fit with no issue.
The Rhino had to be tapped in order to fit, I did it myself easily.

Pro taper with 5/16x14 joint:
Rhino (currently out of stock but it'll be back or find it somewhere else, it can be ordered in different tip diameter) - https://rhino-billiards.com/product...-pool-cue-single-shaft?variant=47652250583325

Are all Schön Joint Screws the Same?

No — not all Schön joint screws are identical, and they are not the same as Joss screws, though some older models share similar dimensions.

Key differences between brands

  • Schön vs. Joss: Joss shafts use a 5/16" x 14 joint screw (thread size) with a smaller pilot (≈0.460–0.480") AzBilliards ForumsAzBilliards Forums.
  • Schön shafts historically used a larger pilot (≈0.530") and a joint screw around 0.308" x 14 in later models AzBilliards ForumsAzBilliards Forums.

I have a bunch of 5/16x14 aftermarket shafts, Predator 314-2, Predator Revo, Rhino, OB InFuze. they all fit on all of the 5/16x14 cues that I’ve tried them on, including Schon, Josss, Jacoby, McDaniel and Tim Scruggs.
Aftermarket shafts have a looser threads to fit all and a small pilot for the same reason.

Alright, I got you the first post. If you don't have anything new or positive to add to my thread, please move on.

I'd probably go with a Jacoby V5 on a Schon. I've also used Revo, Cynergy and Rhino. All were ok, but I'm kind of a Revo whore so that's what stuck with me.

I did the exact same thing. Shot with a Jacoby V4, Revo, Cynergy and 30” Carbon Cue Company (CCC) on a Schon R6 & STL4.

The Jacoby V4 is what stuck with me. Sold both the REVO & Cynergy, didn’t like the hit and just couldn’t get confident with either long enough to stick it out practice wise.

The CCC 30” came with a R-3 I bought and to be honest, blows me away on how well it plays on the old R-Series. It remains in my bag, and I would not hesitate one bit on buying another one in the future. Check them out…..
