  • Jumpers For Goalposts -2 .
My next favourite jumper after the blood filled mustard coloured on was a wooly green jumper one that became my favourite , always wore it through hail rain sleet snow and even the summer time . it was one hell of a street I got brought up in but back to the green jumper . Word got back to us that when the Elders were watching Football games at The Hibs they were getting stung by wasps so us youngsters were like let's get them lol . The wasps nest was inside old railway sleepers they used in the old stands at the Hibs Park so we went down and annoyed the wasps , guess who got stung to fu$k yes me ! my favourite green woolie jumper was covered in wasps stinging me all over . It was a very sore and painful experience and pretty soon the favourite green woolie jumper got ditched lol !
    Jumpers For Goalposts .
that is a day I will never forget , my favourite mustard coloured jumper just turned red with the smack on the forehead from a tossed house brick and all of a sudden my favourite mustard coloured jumper was a deep shade or red , blood red , no A&E in those days maybe 46 years or so ago but very frightening indeed , just Mum's towel holding the wound saying the blood will soon stop , yeah , very frightening indeed !
    The German Bunker .
As a youngster this was weer we sat for free watching Football matches and it was great fun sitting watching football games for free but there was elders and boy were they wild ! One minute sitting at the bottom of the 'German Bomb Bunker' I wore a mustard coloured jumper that suddenly turned into the colour red , an elder at the top of the 'German Bunker' threw a house brick , watch out mate , too late , it hit me smack on the middle of my forehead , blood everywhere , I never ran so fast for home in my life . This was the days before A&E and Mum held a towel to my head and said don't worry , the bleeding will stop . True story !
The Glenhead Social Club AKA - The Hibs Club .
So I've already told the story of when the locals ran the committee and the place into the ground and Big Dougie Smith stepped in and saved the place but with that deal it included Drumchapel Amateurs football club and even though Big Dougie has passed it is all still there to this day . just the names have changed over the years .
The Glenhead Social Club - AKA The Hibs Club .
Big Tam's passing hes led to waves upon waves of so many memories it's just not true so the best place to start is the Glenhead Social Club , AKA The Hibs Club as Duntocher Hibs Football team played on the pitch , it rumoured a Double Decker Bus is buried below the Centre Circle from the War Days and yes , once upon a time as children we played in the fields , sneaked onto the hill to watch Football matches and there was a Bomb Hole we called the Bunker , it was and still is massive but it just so happened that when the German's bombed this area back in the day little did they know they created a great site to sit on the hill at the top left hand side of the hill to watch the football matches as a kid . You don't believe me ?

    Folks .
It really is so sad when you think back on the glory days only to think that those days will never ever happen ever ever again .
    Big Bill Brown .
Right son how comes the Pool Table's finished , you ran outta money son ? No Bill , there's no players wanting to pay for a game . Right son , I will pay just to watch , so here is the table money get a match on , I want to watch .
    Big Bill Brown .
What a character he was lol ! I very much doubt he is still alive because he lived life in the fast lane . , he got a house opposite Clydebank Cinema/Bingo Hall that became The Crucible Snooker Hall and Big Bill said have a guess what I done at my new house son ? I dunno Bill , what happened Bill . I was drunk in my new house and my sons came up to visit me and I was so drunk I walked through a glass coffee table and I lost so much blood and alcoholic's blood is thinner so in a way if my sons never payed a visit , I wouldn't be here .
    Big Bill .
He was such an alcoholic it was good fun to meet him just to hear his stories of what happened next
lol ! So I met Big Bill on Kilbowie Road Clydebank after he cashed in selling his house and kept the money lol ! Big Bill said to me I now live at Graham Ave . top of the hill , I go to ASDA 1st thing in the morning for my booze then get home and travel up the town for the rest of the day so have a think about that son he said .
