Uh, you guys questioning Ccorey’s breaking strategy....youse guys realize that Corey
has caused breaking rules to be modified more than any other player in history?
Yep, the second ball break is = dumb

And I'll add....who is the best breaker and probably the best 8-ball player = SVB. Shane breaks hitting the head ball, and he runs many big packages. Therefore, if you want to beat the best, you better break hitting the head ball and run packages.

I think Corey is trying to get zoned in on it...tables require different speeds.
....I don’t play very much 8-ball, but I’ve had the most success with second ball....
...except I played twice where hitting the third ball was allowed...I won both tournaments...
...and had some packs.

Breaking the head ball seems reliable because you have more control over whitey....
...but hardly anybody will have Shane’s success at that...............
...how many people can break like Shane?....

I mean, I've tried the second ball break on occasion, but I would have to say, watching Corey play -- his run outs have to be at least twice as difficult as Bergman's are when hitting the head ball. I mean, if he thinks he can continue to execute these super tough run outs, go for it.

Corey up by two: 17-15, all hail the second ball break.

His strategy may very well be that it also makes it tougher for his opponent to run out as well, and in a tactical, strategic game, Corey may likely have an edge.

Huge edge, way bigger than 3 games to 30 when it comes to tactical.

His opponents wont get out nearly as often as Corey does with the balls tied up. Corey has to be the best and most creative in the world at getting out when the balls are tied up.

So from the break and run stats, my conclusion is -- the head ball break definitely gave Justin a significantly higher run out rate IF A BALL WAS MADE on the break with no foul, of 76% versus 64% for Corey. However, the fact that Corey made at least one ball on the break with no foul at a MUCH higher rate than Bergman, 85% to 65%, this was enough to give Corey the edge in the set, even though his run outs with all of the clusters from the second ball break were much tougher.

If Justin can find a way to make balls on the break at a much higher rate with the head ball break = he wins. If Corey continues to make a ball on the break with no foul at a much higher rate than Justin, Corey wins.

Bergman won 14 of the first 19 games played yesterday, or 74%. Then, in a complete reversal, Deuel won 22 of the next 33 games (67%).

Bergman finally found a break that was working well, the last day of set # 4.

If not for the 3 games on the wire, i think we would of seen a 5th set.

Thanks for the stats, great stuff

I think that's only the case because they stopped last night allowed Berg to reset , when I saw the spot I had to ask how Corey got the 3 games on the wire in the first place in 8 ball on a bar box ,
