I recently purchased a cue here on AZB. The photo was a group shot of several cues, so the detail was limited. I thought I was buying a merry widow.
The cue arrived and while still in the parking lot of the post office, I looked the cue over. Well to my delight, it has four sharp points. Same wood, no veneers, but definitly four well cut, evenly sized points. If not looking at this in natural light, it could easily go unnoticed.
So, I am curious the reasoning for such subtle beauty. Do the points give a cue structural integrity?
It is an early Jim Auerbach cue.
Thank you for your insight.
