Hi Everyone. I am just looking for some knowledge/advice from those of you who've been in the biz longer than myself. Any ideas are welcome and MUCH appreciated. Ok, so......I planned my first tournament for this weekend. I planned it this weekend because I knew the State WAMO tourney was going on and I knew all the big dogs would be out of town. I thought it would be nice to have a tourny in which the little guys would have a chance. So, a lot of the area's players are out of town. Well, another pool bar in the area went and planned a tourny the same weekend as mine. And then had the balls to say to me "I decided since you were having a tourny I should plan one too. I guess we'll be competing for players." I just smiled and walked away. He's been in the biz for years. Don't we want to encourage the younger generation in to the game? I am 24, a girl, and I'm trying so hard to make my place better. We bought Diamond Tables instead of Valleys, We replaced my house cues with nicer ones, and I am planning the revamping of the place including new lights, new paint, a pool themed decor, and new flooring. Is it even worth it?
