The women’s amateur championship never seems to get as much press., so....
Congratulations to my close friend and former teammate Stacie Bourbeau. I’ve known Stacie since she was 16, and knew back then that she was championship material. Since then, she’s won the BCAPl Masters National Championship, the US Amateur National Championship, inducted in the New England Billiard Hall of Fame, and now can add the prestigious 2018 SBX Open Amateur Championship.
I introduced Stacie to this tournament a decade and a half ago, as she really didnt know much about it and other traveling tournaments. She’s played it now just a relative handful of times, seemingly always coming in top 4 with back-to-back Runner Up finishes in 2016 and 2017. This year, the title and the Big Cup is all hers!!!
