Shaft Spacer Adapter

Have a 5/16-18 HXT player shaft with a brass pilot joint. Would like to adapt this shaft to another handle that has wood to wood flat joint connection (no pilot). Is there a spacer out there I can ready buy, or do I need to make something to be able to convert this shaft with out removing the raised pilot?

The brass pilot protrudes out further than what appears in the picture, maybe around 3/32 for a guesstimate. A light weight spacer with the right size pilot hole, thickness and out side diameter could make this work with both handles...

pilot

You could take this to your local cue guy and ask him to remove the pilot for you.
It will not affect how the shaft feels or plays.

Removing the pilot, countersinking the hole and freshing up the first treads takes less than 10 minutes.
Find a local cue maker/repair person and him or her will fix it for you :)

That precious pilot does absolutely nothing other than preventing you from doing what you want to do.
It's a brass nubbin that hangs in a void; it touches nothing. The spacer is not your solution.
I can see facing and alignment issues galore with a spacer.
Please do what has already been suggested and have it trimmed flat.
