I know some of the testers, it should be in a few weeks, before the end of the year.


New offline patch released:


Patch to 4.1.2.4

Enhancements

Tables lighting improved
Ball lighting improved
Added reflection on some table metal parts
Room art now uses higher resolution textures
Added ten foot pool table
Changed pinch on play and break cues to jump more
Improved rail paths for billiards
Improved rail paths for pool
Improved how racks break

How do you get the update? I tried to update in VP4, and it tells me I am up to date, but my version is different.

I agree with this actually. However, it's akin to a teenager watching porn. Yeah, they are going to see things that they think

"Wow! With the pearls and the whip! Yeah, I'm definitely going to give that a go when I next get a chance"

but when it comes down to the crunch and they are in a real life situation - nothing they were going to do comes to mind!

It's a bit like that with pool. Nothing beats the the real thing and "shot memory" is derived from actually playing the game.

Having said all of that... I too play pool online ;)

Steve Chaplin CEO of Celeris and developer of the Virtual Pool series finally announced today that Virtual Pool 4 Online although still undergoing some final server testing,should be good to go at some point in early January 2014.

Public Beta will be open to all ans the game will be live as intended,so you will be able to play either free being limited to just house cues and no break cues and jump cues.
Alternatively you will be able to puirchase vp$ that allow you to enter tournaments and ladders as well as purchase cues and extras.

Anyone know why VP4 isn't on Steam?

There was another pool game on sale there and people in the forums were talking about VP3 and how good it was and many weren't even aware that a VP4 even existed.

Yeah "Pool Nations", a kid pool game.

VP4 is not on Steam, probably because the online mode is not available yet (early january). When online is available, i hope Steam will release it.

I agree, more people should know about VP4, but Celeris is a very small team and they are focussed on getting the online ready, then they might have more time for advertising and communication.

Steve Chaplin had hoped for earlyJanuary for Public Beta for Vrtual Pool 4 Online.
There are still server issues being resolved till hes finally happyy to say we are good to go.

Is a there a OSX version planned for the future?

I have played this game in it's various iterations for years and really love it. I really think it helped me become a better player. All other Pool sim's pale in comparison IMO

I dont know about OSX.

Push out should be ctrl+P

Check into your controls settings.

In advanced room settings as well, maybe push out is disabled.

in the iOS (iphone) version there is no ctrl anythingas its all touch screen.

Public Beta is partially open. Players who have accounts can now access online play.

To get the client:
Log into your account https://vponline.celeris.com/auth/login/
Press the pencil icon under the player picture to bring up the account information.
Press the Download Game button
If you do not have a player name, please add one.



(for those who have not purchased VP4 offline, they will need to wait a little bit to register)
