When I play pool with a Woodie it gets in the way!
For me the answer is based mostly on aesthetics and tradition. I like wood shafts.
I've shot a few shots with exactly one Revo CF shaft, and it was nice, but it didn't shoot significantly better, or even differently than a quality wood shaft. To me, anyway.
I couldn't shoot difficult shots any more easily with the Revo than I could with my Meucci blackdot. Though I didn't try shooting particularly hard (high velocity) shots, or masse or whatever. Just normal speed stuff.
My take was that for the vast majority of players a CF shaft probably wasn't going to help or hurt much either way.
