The one with the foil is a simple house cue, no veneers. You can tell by the joint collar The one with a ring in the butt sleeve, I believe is a simple maple cue from the third catalog. They are not worth the $400 or so the bids are at. Just my .02.

The cue with the Gold & Black rings and foil is a Model B, as you say a simple house cue conversion and the other is a Third Catalog Model 6 a Merry Widow. (If you look carefully, you can see the backend is rosewood.) Model 6s are generally heavy by today's standards but nice cues. Both of these cues appear to need at least a minimal amount of attention.
The ringwork on Patrick's shaft would be similar if not the same as that on a standard Model 6.
Attached are pictures of Three Model Bs, one with ringwork in the colors of the auction cue and a pair of Model 6s.
Thank you for the input gentlemen. I ended up staying away from the auction. It all went for $500 ($478.01 for the cues and the rest for shipping and handling). Oh well.. maybe next time.
