I like the idea of identifying variables
and isolating them in order to learn
and become a better player

I could see where finger/muscle fitness might be ignored
to most, I doubt it would seem worthy of consideration to begin with
but having a weak bridge could be holding a player back
and they might not even realize it

there's much talk on this forum about gear, and physics
and technique, and history, and practice
and rightfully so.
but there are many other things we can do to improve our play
or at least not be worse than need be ^_^

for instance
there are a LOT of things I don't know about pool
time will tell
but meanwhile
my cue is always clean, my tip always groomed
and I keep maintenance tools with me, just in case
in general, I try to keep in good health
eat decent, get decent sleep, wear comfy shoes
makes it easier to be in a good mental state
which is obviously important to shooting good pool
right shot at the right time an all that

control what you can control.

I agree! M Theory is partly about bringing these things to light. Do things for the betterment of your body and mind and enjoy practicing and developing daily for the sake of the intrinsic rewards that life has to offer. Really great response, thank you for your time in sharing this. 🙏🏻
