A lesson remembered..........

It was 1969 or so.... I had gone to Doc Fryes house in Feasterville Pa to pick up a new cue Doc was making me from ivory billiard balls my dad gave me. A beautiful ivory and ebony 60" cue. When i got there Doc said it would be an hour or so to wait and i should go upstairs and play some pool on his table. Upstairs i meet a guy already playing and he is friendly and invites me to join him. It was Steve, he was
very easy going and he showed me a few things about my stroke and stance and then destroyed me in a game to 100. I got 2 points.
My average was about 45-50 but when you can't get to the table. It was an eye opening experience that i still rely on today. Steve showed me the basics that are still the foundation of my game. A very class act and a gentleman without any attitude or snobbish ways.
A loss to the world as well as pool.
