What type of cue setup would you reccomend?

I currently play with a 19oz Viking Black Ice 1, it's been a great cue but after playing several nights a week for half a year--the cue's graphics look a little... childish. I was looking at a Joss 'Sneaky Pete'(not that I'm good enough to hustle anyone except for your average drunk bar patron who plays 1-3 games a week while he's drinking) but it's a simple, elegant-looking cue and I'm not an overly flashy person.

My question is basically, what sort of gear should I get with it? I've heard tons of different things about LD shafts, special tips, etc.

My advice is that no matter if you decide to go with a new cue or not always keep that first cue. I wish I still had my first. It was a very cheap cue, but damn I loved that thing.

As far as the rest of it goes with equipment it is best to just experiment. I personally play with OB shafts, but they are not for everyone.
 
For what it's worth.
Whatever cue you end up going for I'd recommend having an extension built for it or which can be added later. The extension is a great tool especially on bar table - means you never have to use a rest! :thumbup:
