Has anyone purchased a brand new set within the past year or so?

If, so.....was the white part of the balls WHITE or was it yellowish?

Also, I've been seeing different pics online showing what appears to be a foam separator inside the box and other to be plastic.....the white plastic one has an Aramith logo on it. This seems REALLY fishy to me....would Brunswick really use something with the Aramith logo on it?

Saluc, maker of Aramith, produce Centennials under contract for Brunswick. Maybe someone at the factory slipped up and used the wrong packaging.

They should be WHITE and not yellow, they been sitting open exposed to the sun if they are yellow. Depending on what you paid, they could have been floor models.

Saluc ownes Aramith and Simonis. So yeah, that either happened at factory or where you bought them from.

Centennials

Aramith has been making Centennials for at least the past ten years, to the same specifications as their own top of the line balls.

I have numerous new sets purchased through 2 different reputable dealers and they look the same as the photos here. Sure they are not as white as a bright white piece of paper, but they appear to be the correct color to me. The egg carton / ball separator material is gray and plastic - just as shown in the photos here, but I don't see any sign of an Aramith logo on anything included with the new box, as you suggest is on yours. I can show you some yellowish balls Super Pro Aramith balls that will make those Centennial balls shown look white in comparison!

I bought a set with a new table last June and they look just like the photos above. Think of it as "warm white".

Yellow Brunswick Centennials

I purchased a set from the same person as the original poster. The seller was Subdude1974. They were extremely yellow and I returned them. I compared them to my 3-year old set of Centennials and took a picture. His are in the box, mine are racked on the table. They were sold as new, but they are not new, even if unplayed.

Before ordering, I sent him a message asking if they were new and of recent manufacture. He said they were new and not antique. Seems deceptive to me not to disclose that they were very old, even if unplayed.

He kept $15 for "shipping", and I paid $13 to return them the same way he shipped them, so I am out $28.

I would warn anyone else against buying Centennials without a good picture.

I remember seeing an old thread that said exposing the yellowish cue balls to sunlight will whiten them. Perhaps on a sunny window sill and turn them a bit after a day or two. I never needed to try......just passing it on. Curious to know though. Mitch

I’m wondering if the differences could be due to different manufacturers. Nowadays I see the Aramith logo on Centennial sets, but have they always been made by Aramith? Mine has the logo in the center of the crate, but I don’t see that logo on all the pics of Centennial sets. Edit: I would agree that the above Centennial set sold by Subdude1974 are more than likely a very old set...no Aramith logo in the crate and noticeably yellowed over time. I'm pretty sure that Brunswick is very strict about the anything and everything to do with their premier sets and wouldn't permit varying shades.
