Cues by O.L. Briggs & Son of Boston MA made sometime between 64 and 125 years ago during that business's existence. The company was O.L. Briggs between 1870 and 1900. Click here for proof.
The 16 and 17 ounce cues appear to be mahogany and maple, while the 18 and 19 ounce cues ---purple heart and maple.
Cue lengths are 57" to end of tenon. No ferrules on the cues but included are six buffalo-horn ferrules that can be installed (from Cue Components).
Butt diameters near bumper for the 16, 17, 18, and 19 ounce cues are 1.35", 1.37", 1.39", and 1.39" diameter, respectively.
Butt diameters at the first splice on cue at about 12" from butt end are 1.22" for all cues.
Diameters of cue below tenon are: 12.1, 12.3, 12.6, 12.5 mm, resp.
Tenon diameters are 6.5 diam.x14.6mm length, 6.5x11mm, 6.2x13.1mm, 6.6x14mm, resp.
Also included are parts that were just like that used a hundred years ago: i) six buffalo-horn ferrules (four 17x27mm with 6mm tenon & air holes and two 17x33mm undrilled from Cue Components); and ii) Champion 13mm cue tips.
Some wobble to the cues.
To be shipped via USPS in an about-indestructible, 3.5" PVC pipe inside a tall 5.5"x63" rectangular cardboard box.
Four one-piece cues — $200 shipped
I bought them figuring I could return them to original condition or do a Sneaky Pete conversion. I'm just not good enough to do that, however --- let a real cuemaker work on these bad boys.
