The Midwest Poolplayers Association (MPA) started its inaugural season on December 4, 2010 with a $1,000 Added 8-Ball tournament at CR's Sports Bar in Coon Rapids, MN. 87 players participated in that event. Two weeks later, the MPA co-sponsored a $12,000 Added 8-ball singles and team event at Black Bear Casino, with 447 players in attendance.
The next stop of the MPA is Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Shooters Billiard Club in Burnsville, MN. Using the same format as the earlier event at CR's, there will be 3 separate divisions - Masters/AA, A, and B/C. Money will be added to all three divisions. The doors open at 10 a.m., with tournament play beginning at 12 Noon. We expect 80-100 players to participate.
