Got an e-mail a couple of days ago from my league director. Thorsten Holmann was going to give clinics for the next three weeks at Amsterdam. One in each discipline of 14.1, 8-ball, and 9-ball. I immediately signed up.
Apparently I wasn't the only one, as due to the overwhelming popularity I was told 45 others signed up for last night's clinic. They had to expand the clinic from the front pit. Normally this is a spacious 2 table space, usually reserved for exhibitions because of the capacity for spectators. There was hardly a space by the railing, as it was wall to wall students. Some were taking copius notes.
Originally planned for just the pit, they had to expand to additional tables when it came time to work on the drills Thorsten demonstrated. Other house pro Mike Yednak were helping the students at the other tables. It was a good night. I learned some drills to help with my position and bump balls to create a break shot.
